Training Overview
The Community Leaders Training program combines Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) and Human-Centered Design to build leadership skills. It emphasizes hands-on learning, allowing fellows to apply these methods in their own projects and group initiatives, ensuring they are well-prepared for diverse community challenges.
COMMUNITY LEADERS FELLOWSHIP
The Community Leaders Network, established by OgdenCAN, is a paid fellowship program designed to train residents of East Central Ogden, Utah, in civic engagement and community development. Led by Isaac Farley and MJ Munger, the program runs from September 2023 to May 2024 and focuses on developing fellows into public leaders through hands-on training in Asset-Based Community Development and Design Thinking. The curriculum includes weekly discussions, workshops, and project management check-ins, guiding fellows to complete their own community projects that align with OgdenCAN's pillars of housing, health, education, and financial stability. The training environment is collaborative, encouraging feedback and peer learning.
